One of the most colourful and interesting tribes living in the mountains of northem Thailand is the Hmong. Their Sino-Tibetan heritage is obvious and their traditional clothing is distinctive with headpieces made of silver coins wom by the women. This tour will give you the chance to interact directly with Hmong people and see first hand how they live. Your overnights will be at Hmong Hilltribe, typical Hmong style bamboo bungalowsnestled among the rice paddles, in the hills north-west of Chiang Mai. Providing a unique adventurous experience among the nature beauty of northem Thailand amid the glorious greenery of the high hill. Your experience will be an adventure in more ways than one. Biking, elephant riding, river rafting and oxcart riding are all part of this tour.
Day 1 Chiang Mai-Hmong Hilltribe Lodge (L / D ) Depart Chiang May by 4WD Land Rover or similar to hill tribe museum at Mae Rim and local market at Mae Malai. Then continue to baan Muang Kued of Mae Tang. Participate in an exciting elephant safari through jungle and an unforgettable ox-cart riding through rural landscape. Picnic Lunch. After picnic lunch, embark on the inflatable rafts for an adventurous journey down the rapids in the white and scenic Mae Tang River for about an hour (dependable on season). Then continue 1 ½ driving by four wheeler to Baan Huey Rai, passing several villages, orchards, valleys, and rice fields in the area of Saluang villages and drive uphill to Baan Pang Hai, a simple village 830 metres above sea level. And check-in for accommodation at Hmong Hilltribe Lodge. BBQ dinner at the lodge followed by presentations of the Hmong tribe cultural shows and overnight.
Day 2 Hmong Hilltribe Lodge (B / L / D ) After breakfast, take the four wheeler to a small village of Baan Teen Doi where you make a short stroll to Mae Pa. Then get into action by mountain biking to Baan Palan. Visit a small village reservoir. Continue biking to Baan Pong Kwaw, where there is and old temple with beautiful wall painting. Picnic. Drive on the mountain road up to through Baan Nong Hoi Mai where the Tibetan-Chinese people live. Then get into action again by trekking or mountain biking from Nong Hoi Mai down to Mae Khi village where you can have coffee or tae in the Hmong's Kitchen. Return to Hmong Hilltribe Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 Hmong Hilltribe Lodge-Chiang Mai (B / L ) Breakfast. Depart the Lodge by four wheeler. Visit Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden and an orchid farm before having lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon, enjoy an exciting snake show at Mae Saa Snake Farm before transfer you back to the hotel, the airport, or railway station. 16.00 Finish you trip in Chiang Mai City .
