 MEKHALA-A LEGENDARY RIVER CRUISE

 Welcome aboard the legendary Mekhala for an enchanting joumey along the magnificent Chao Phaya River. Converted several years ago from a traditional teak rice barge, the Mekhala graces the river as a unique floating hotel.
Six and nine double-berth cabins, immaculately appointed. There are queen-size double bunks, cushioned sofa (which can serve as a third bunk for child), dressing table and a private shower room. The wooden floor & walls and fittings are richly varnished. Up on deck, there is perfect area for sunbathing with chairs and cushions, a cozy corner and dinning area.

PROGRAMME UP RIVER (BOAT/BUS)
Daily departure at 08:00 hrs.

Day 1 Bangkok-Mekhala on the river ( D ) Transfer to pier for embarkation. Departure from Bangkok by the “Legendary Rive Cruiser Mekhala”. Cruising up the Chao Phraya River with spectacular views of the Grand Palace and the Temple of Dawn. Just after dark the MEKHALA will dock at Wat Kat Tia, a Thai temple set in a tranquil rural village. An wxquisits candlelit dinner of mouth-watering Thai cuisine is served on the deck.
Accommodation : On board near Wat Kai Tia.

Day 2 Mekhala-Ayuthaya-Bangkok (B /L) Optional : visit the temple as the sun rises and joining traditional alms offerings to Buddhist monks at the temple . A delicious breakfast is served on board. Then depart for Bang Pa In where your guide will take you to visit the Summer Palace. Continue by long tailed boat to the Ancient Capital of Ayuthaya. After lunch at local restaurant, visit the idyllic ruins of the once glorious capital destroyed by the Burmese. In the late afternoon, return to your hotel in Bangkok by air-conditioned minibus. Arrive Bangkok and transfer to your hotel.

PROGRAMME DOWN RIVER (BUS/BOAT)
Daily departure at 08:00 hrs.

 Day 1 Bangkok-ayuthaya-Bang Pa In (L /D) Depart from your hotel around 8:00 am, and travel by air-conditioned minibus to ayuthaya. Upon arrival, visit the archeological site of the once glorious capital destroyed by the Burmese. Lunch at local restaurant, and then travel to Bang Pa In by long tailed boat to explore the summer Palace. After this visit, your guide will drop you off to board the MEKHALA. Cruising down the Chao Phraya River to Wat Kai Tia for candlelit dinner

Day 2 Mekhala-Bangkok on the River (B) Optional: visit the temple as the sun rises and joining traditional alms offerings to Buddhist monks at the temple. A delicious breakfast on board while cruising down the river, passing spectacular views of the Grand Palace and Temple of Down. Disembarkation and transfer to your Bangkok hotel.
