RV River Kwai, the first inland
cruise ship in Thailand, is a newly built colonial style river cruiser.
River kwai carries a maximum of 20 passengers in 10 teakwood cabins
(single deck) and operates every Monday-Thursday for upstream and
every Thursday-Sunday for downstream. RV River Kwai opens up an
entirely new area for river tourism in Kanchanaburi. Every morning
and afternoon land excursions are offered to visit attractions along
the river including temples, historic sites, khmer ruins, waterfalls,
war cemeteries, hot springs, the bridge on the River Kwai, and local
attractions, etc.
PROGRAMME UPSTREAM
(Depart Bangkok at 07:00 hrs.)
Day 1 (Mon) Bangkok-Kanchanaburi-Ban Kao (L / D ) Pick up from hotel and depart by coach to Kanchanaburi withstops at Phra Pathom Chedi, then proceed to Khao Noi Cave Temple and Tiger Cave Temple nearby. Continue to visit JEATH War Museum . Embarkation RV River Kwai at noon with lunch on board. Afternoon, visit Wat Tham Khaopoon. Then return to boat and continue cruising upriver to Wang Pla Moo Bridge. Dinner and overnight on board
Day 2 (Tue) Ban Kao-Sai Yok (B / L / D ) Breakfast on board. Then cruising upriver on the Kwai Noi River to visit Prasat Muang Singh, historical park with Khmer architecture from the late Lopburi period. Continue by road to Tha Kilen Train Station for boarding the 3 rd class train, passing over the long wooden viaduct. Stop at Krasae Cave . Continue by coach with stop at Sai Yok Elephant Village . Lunch on board with leisure time Dinner and overnight on board
Day 3 (Wed) Sai Yok-Sai Yok Yai-Ban Hin Dad (B / L / D ) After breakfast, walk uphill to visit kaeng Lava Cave . Return to boat for cruising upriver to Ban Haad Ngiu and continue by coach to Hell Fire Pass, a part of the Death Railway cut through the stone mountain. Rejoin the boat at Kaeng Pa Lorm with lunch on board. Afternoon at leisure on the boat. Farewell Dinner and overnight on board
Day 4 (Tue) Ban Kao-Sai Yok (B / L ) Early morning, offering foods to monks at nearby temple. Breakfast on board. Then disembark and return to Kanchanaburi by coach. Visit the Thailand-Burma Railway Center Museum, Donrak War Cemetery and the world-famous bridge over the River Kwai. Lunch at local restaurant and back to Bagkok, arrive Bangkok at 6:00 PM.
